I tried explaining before, to understand Minnesotans, you have to understand our winter.
Long nights. Cold, cold, cold, cold that freezes teardrops on your eyes, takes the elasticity out of your cheeks, makes you feel alive when you're challenging it, or softly slipping down the path out of life when you fall asleep in it. Don't ever fall asleep in it. Ice on the walkways. Waiting until the plows come through before leaving for work in the morning, because otherwise you can't drive anywhere. Sunset at 4 pm. Softened lines everywhere, from the thick blanket of snow. Ice hanging off the power lines, the gutters, the trees. Walking home alone, all the long-range sound deadened by the snow, so all you hear is the crunch, crunch of your boots pressing the crystals together on your path. Dropping gloves and boots by the fireplace to dry, coat over the back of a chair, rolling up jeans so the snowmelt doesn't drip on your feet in the house. Coming home, and it being warm. Wearing boots out of the house until you get to work and slip into your work shoes. Coat, hat, gloves. Turning on the car half an hour before it's time to leave, so it'll actually be warm enough to chip off the ice when you get out there. Battle between gloves slipping on the steering wheel and leather being too cold to hold. Red hands. Fogged up glasses. Blazing brilliant smile.
I love winter. I love that our Christmas comes in winter.
Walking down the city streets after dark, lights in all the trees. Smells leak out of stores as some bundled-up patron rushes into the warmth. Cinnamon cocoa in hand. Holding hands with your love, mitten-to-glove, joy in each other keeping you warm. Music everywhere. Concerts. Evergreen. Bell-ringers standing in the cold for hours but always ready with a smile over their red bell and bucket. Christmas trees in all the windows. Ice skating, laughing with sisters. Joy floating in the air. Candles at home. Making good things to eat. Love.
Because my life was dark, and cold, and slowly freezing to death. And then God came in, and changed everything. There were colors. There was sharp detail, and textures to feel. There was light everywhere, every moment was charged. There were a thousand secret passions to be sought out every day, all hidden down this path leading into Him.
Since then, Christmas has been a celebration of Christ, yes, but when you understand who Christ is in my life, it's been a celebration of life. For me, there is no separation - I'm most alive when I'm closest to Christ, and He's what put life into my existence. And there are times when I forget that, when my life starts to freeze down and I find myself going through the motions again, because I can't make that life on my own, without Him, it's just like finding the decorations in the basement.
And that's why I turn into such a spaz about Christmas. My family calls me "the Christmas elf," and when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I usually say, "Mrs. Claus." But it's more than that. If you had abundant life, took joy in every moment, every taste, and turned eager eyes to see what delights might come next, and then had a day set aside to celebrate life even more than you already did - hey, you'd probably make that a five-week celebration, too.
Dior handbags I have ever made mad, except the well-known model monogrammed, say in the wake of Gucci and Guess. However, I must say this is definitely to my taste, the color will be, will design, this Dior bag is definitely for me.
Calf skin of a bright red, the visual impact is very elegant and sober for this Medium Dior 61 tote. The only reference to the mark is double the initial charm of the house. The silver hardware is perfectly matched with red skin, and overall style of bag that does not have many claims. The double handles leave much space between the shoulder and opening the Dior bag. Then allow to be worn as a handbag that gives back. And outside of the bag is practical and accessible, with two pockets, not too roomy.
There's also Brandy in brown, a color perhaps too simple for a scholarship after all very simple and without major or special finishes. Welcome to www.thecheapbags.com. You can buy high quality Dior Handbags and other brand there.
